ABOUT ASI (AIDS Society of India)

ASI is a professional non-profit membership organization of medical doctors and researchers in HIV/AIDS aiming to promote and disseminate clinically oriented medical teaching and coordinated medical management of HIV disease, started on the lines of International AIDs Society.

It is registered under the Society's Registration Act 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 in 2000 AD with its registered office situated at Mumbai.

ASI collaborates with internationally recognized scientists in HIV and infectious diseases to focus on national capacity building. It organizes CMEs in different parts of India and well-attended National Conference of ASI annually. ASI has been accredited by the Maharashtra Medical Council for conducting CMEs, Workshops, Training Programs and Conferences with CME credit hours to delegates and faculty. ASI academic programmes are accredited by respective State Medical Councils. It plays advocacy and advisory roles at the national, regional and local levels and also collaborates with NACO and National TB Control Programme. It supports / co-sponsors regional, national and inter-national meetings organised by other professional organisations and associations with similar motto. ASI keeps pace with current times and thus keep expanding its horizons to encompass other emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

ASI manages a discussion forum on its website www.asi-asicon.org and plans to restart the 'Journal of AIDS Society of India'.
