Professor Adeeba Kamarulzaman graduated from Monash University and trained in internal medicine and infectious diseases in Melbourne, Australia. She is presently the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University, USA.

She established the first Infectious Diseases Unit at the University Malaya Medical Centre and the related HIV research centre, CERiA. She has used her clinical and academic positions to engage in the national and community response to HIV/AIDS in Malaysia and is presently an EXCO member of the Malaysian AIDS Council and Chairman of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, a trust that raises funds for HIV related programs.

She is presently a member of the WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Health Science & Technology Policy and is President-Elect of the International AIDS Society. She has played a key role in the establishment and ongoing activities and collaborations of a regional HIV research network initiative; TREAT Asia.

Prof Kamarulzaman received a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) from her alma mater, Monash University in 2015 for her achievements in medicine and as a health advocate.
Bilali Camara is a Medical Doctor with a Master’s Degree in Public Health, a University Degree in Health in Developing Countries, and Certificates in: HIV/AIDS/STIs Clinical Sciences and Epidemiology, Tropical Epidemiology, Antimicrobial Resistance and Medical Virology Laboratories. He speaks English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Soninke, Bambara, and Fulfulde. Since May 2017, he is the UNAIDS Country Director for India and has served as UNAIDS Country Director for Nigeria and Angola. He joined UNAIDS in 2008 as a Consultant and then Senior Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser for the Caribbean after 17 years of service to WHO in Latin America and the Caribbean as a Medical Epidemiologist for HIV/AIDS/TB/STI prevention and control. Before joining WHO, he has worked in his native Mali as a Consultant for UNICEF, WHO and UNFPA in the areas of Malnutrition and Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Jyoti Dhar, Consultant GUM/HIV Physician for over 24 years, works at Leicester, UK. She is a specialist in the management of HIV and AIDS.

She trained in India and the UK and her expertise is in the management of pregnant women with HIV, having the largest cohort of such patients in the UK, outside of London. She has served on the Board of the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV, the Clinical Standards Unit and has been a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for GU Medicine. She has been Regional Speciality Advisor and Training Programme Director for GUM and Head of Specialist Training for East Midlands. Her other clinical interests relate to vulval disease and genital dermatoses. Her research interests include HIV management in pregnant women and infants and she has pioneered treatment guidelines of such patients. She is further, particularly recognised in the field of medical education having designed and developed GUM/HIV curricula, core learning outcomes for medical graduates and recently the SHIV on-line toolkit for undergrads. She was conferred the title of Professor in Medical Education in 2016 by the University of Leicester in recognition of her educational and research contribution. She is widely published and is regularly invited to speak and teach at national and international meetings and courses.
